Agricomseeds is a genetics company located in Santa Cruz- Bolivia, that focuses on producing superior quality seeds of yellow and red kernel flint - type corn hybrids, specific for tropical agro-climate niches. In 1995, our genetic program started with the intention of originating pure lines from rustic corn strains adapted to stress conditions. We have developed hybrids that are highly competitive for the tropical belt, a global strip between 30º northern and southern latitudes.
Agricomseeds develops a genetic program directed towards the tropical belt using genetic finger printing (correlating genetic distances based in DNA testing) and using the most advanced genetic enhancement software. At present Agricomseeds develops inbred lines in San Pablo - Brazil, Salta Argentina and Santa Cruz - Bolivia. At the same time it tests 1000 new hybrids every year. Then the 30 hybrids with the best yields, production stability, resistance to Aflatoxin and grain quality are chosen and sent to be evaluated in statistical tests in 12 countries: Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, southern United States, Mexico, South Africa, China, India, Pakistan, Turkey and Thailand .
As a result, the products developed by Agricomseeds are focused and differentiated based on the company vision and backed by a network for marketing, research and development for a directed global offering, in which American or European genetics adapted for temperate climates do not adapt adequately.
We work under ISO 9001:2000 quality norms, and our seeds are produced subject to standards higher than those required by international organizations.
We have modern installations and equipment that, in addition to creative and innovative procedures, have made Agricomseeds a company known for its reliability, flexibility and speedy operations.
Presently, Agricomseeds exports seeds to several countries in paper or atmospherically modified vaccum packed containers with a sufficient number of seeds to sow a hectare (from 45.000 to 80.000 seeds per pack depending on the hybrid and the region).
Agricomseeds also produces Sorghum hybrids and Lab-Lab seeds, a legume ideal for rotating with the corn crop, to recouperate soils un a non tilling crop system, protecting surrounding soils.
